About Us
Bad Lab Apparel started with two rescued black Labs—Jetty and Grady—and a big leap from a career in the fire service into the world of business.
What started out with one employee, a manual screen print press, and three embroidery machines has grown over four years into a full operation with eight employees, ten embroidery machines, both automatic and manual screen printing, direct-to-garment printing, and a full lineup of promotional products.
We’re proud to be a local business that believes in local supporting local—partnering with schools, fire departments, small businesses, and community organizations to bring their brands and stories to life through high-quality custom apparel.

Yes. For Screen Printing, we can accommodate up to 7 colors. For Embroidery, we can use up to 16 thread colors.
Are there any color limits for my design?
We prefer vectorized artwork (such as .AI, .EPS, or high-resolution .PDF files). This ensures the sharpest possible image quality at any size.
What file type do I need to submit for my artwork?
Yes! You can typically mix different sizes (S, M, L, etc.) and garment colors to reach the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for a single design.
Can I mix and match sizes, colors, and styles to meet the MOQ?
The minimum quantity depends on the decoration method:

What is the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) for a bulk order?
Screen fees are included in the screen printing cost, meaning you will not pay an extra fee for setting up the screens. If you do not meet the minimum requirement, screen fees are assessed. Embroidery logo conversion fees will be addressed during the quoting process.
Are there setup or screen fees for my order?
Yes. If your logo for screen printing exceeds 7 colors, we may recommend using the Direct-to-Garment (DTG) method instead.
If my design has multiple colors, will that affect the printing method?
Lead time for an order depends on the garment type, decoration method, and current production volume. We will provide a specific timeline when we finalize your quote and receive art approval.
How much time is required to produce my bulk order?

Yes, we can accommodate rush orders. Rush fees and faster turnaround times depend on our current schedule and the complexity of your order, and we will quote these on a case-by-case basis.

To give you the fastest and most accurate quote, we require the following information upfront:

What information is required to get a bulk order quote?

Can I request a specific garment brand, fabric, or style number?
Absolutely. If you have a preferred product (like a specific Bella+Canvas or Hanes style number, or a certain cotton weight), please include it in your initial quote request. We will work to source that exact item.
What if my artwork requires design changes or cleanup?
If your artwork is not print-ready (e.g., low resolution or needs color separation), our in-house design team can assist with cleanup, adjustments, or minor changes. We will provide you with a quote for any necessary design work before proceeding.
Can I see a sample of the product before committing to a bulk order?
Yes. You can request a blank sample of the garment to check fit and quality before placing your full order. A pre-production digital proof of your artwork will always be provided for final approval before we start printing.
How do I approve my final design before production begins?
We will send you a digital mockup (proof) showing your design, colors, and placement on the selected garment. Production will only begin after we receive your explicit written approval of this digital proof.
Policies & Guarantees
What is your policy on returns and exchanges?
Due to the custom nature of our products, all sales are generally final. We only accept returns or exchanges for items that are defective or misprinted, provided they differ significantly from the approved digital proof.
What happens if my order contains a defective or misprinted item?
We stand behind our quality. If an item is found to be defective or misprinted (not matching the approved digital proof), please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order. We will work to replace or refund the affected garments.
Are personalized items (with individual names or numbers) eligible for return?
No. Items that include individual personalization (names, numbers, etc.) cannot be returned or exchanged unless the personalization itself is applied incorrectly, is defective, or the garment is misprinted.
What if I need to cancel my bulk order?
We will send you a digital mockup (proof) showing your design, colors, and placement on the selected garment. Production will only begin after we receive your explicit written approval of this digital proof.
How are shipping costs calculated for bulk orders?
Shipping costs are determined based on the total weight of your order, the number of boxes required, and your delivery location. The final shipping cost will be clearly outlined in your quote.
